Krems, a historic town at the banks of the Danube and home to approximately 25.000 people, has much to offer when it comes to art. The center of the art scene is the Kunstmeile Krems. Three museums adorn the Museumsplatz: the State Gallery of Lower Austria, Kunsthalle Krems and Karikaturmuseum Krems. Contemporary art, caricature and cartoons, or a look into the State Collections of Lower Austria – there is always something new to discover. Additionally, the restaurant Poldi Fitzka in the State Gallery of Lower Austria offers tradi tional Austrian cuisine in a modern ambience.
