Experience photography

Discovery of the fascinating world of photography! In the exhibition Elfriede Mejchar, participants get to know the art of the photographer photographer Elfriede Mejchar: Collages, plant studies, still lifes and photographic documentation of monuments and works of art.

The focus of the workshop is on getting creative oneself. 

Using the old photographic technique of cyanotype, participants learn how images are created through light and shadow. By placing various objects on light-sensitive paper and exposing them to sunlight, fascinating blue images are created. 

Simple everyday objects are captured artistically using this technique. Inspired by the collages of the artist Elfriede Mejchars, the participants also create compositions of their own.

There is an additional creative challenge for teenagers: using Polaroid cameras, they can experiment with blurring to achieve artistic effects in their photos. This hands-on approach encourages them to develop their creative side and develop their own photographic skills.

This workshop can only be booked during the duration of the Elfriede Mejchar exhibition (13.04.2024-16.02.2025) at the State Gallery of Lower Austria and cannot be combined with other workshop modules.
