Discover the fascinating world of photography! Teenagers get to know the work of the renowned Austrian photographer Elfriede Mejchar. The retrospective offers an overview of the artist's multifaceted oeuvre. They explore the images and the question of what makes a photograph art. The workshop enables participants to experience the basics of photography through simple experiments.

Using the old photographic technique of cyanotype, the young people learn how images are created through light and shadow. They place various objects on light-sensitive paper and through the effect of sunlight, personal creative works are created. In addition, the young people use collage to develop their own image compositions and experiment with Polaroid cameras and the use of blurring to achieve artistic effects in their photographs. This practice-oriented approach encourages the young people to develop their creative side and further develop their own photographic skills.

This workshop can only be booked during the duration of the "Elfriede Mejchar exhibition" (13.04.2024-16.02.2025) at the Landesgalerie Niederösterreich and cannot be combined with other workshop modules.
