As in heaven, so on earth - as on earth, so in heaven?
A tour of religious practices in 7 stations
16.03.2025-16.11.2025
A fascinating dialogue between historical exhibits and contemporary art! What role did religiosity once play in Krems and Stein? What traces can we find today?
Seven stations invite visitors to engage openly with religious practices, with an emphasis on personal interpretation. Themes such as movement, chance, magic, order, the body, fertility and collecting are explored. Outdoor stations lead to religiously charged sites in Krems and Stein, rounding out the museumkrems collection in the form of a walk through the historic city. The current works in the exhibition are by Karin Frank, Assunta Abdel Azim Mohamed and Florian Nährer.
This exhibition is a cooperation between the Institut für Realienkunde des Mittelalters und der Frühen Neuzeit (IMAREAL) and museumkrems.
