In cooperation with donaufestival, artist, curator, and musician Julian Warner is developing a performative installation for Kunsthalle Krems on appropriating metaphors of war. These appear in the installation in modified war scenarios analogous to military sandbox games and deal, for example, with the staging of the war against the virus.

Under the title Stealing the Stolen, donaufestival 2022 is dedicated to the power of counter appropriations. Directed against forms of cultural hegemony, the artistic positions seek to break apart stereotypical notions of the other. Numerous musical acts and performances celebrate cosmopolitanism and hybridity.
