Nina Kurtela
BIO
Nina Kurtela (born 1981 in Zagreb) is a conceptual artist working with choreographic and site-specific practices. She works with methods of endurance and daily practice, questioning concepts such as work, identity, belonging, home and their fictions in various media, such as video, installation, performance, choreography and dance.
Her works are presented internationally in museums and galleries, at theater, dance and film festivals and in public spaces. She studied “Dance, Context, Choreography” at the HZT, Berlin University of the Arts and holds a diploma (MFA) in Fine Arts and Art Education from the Academy of Fine Arts Zagreb. She is the founder of the Zagreb art organization Jagoda - a practice- and research-based platform for opening up new fields of communication and exchange through innovative art practices.
