The Dutch artists Liesbeth Bik and Jos van der Pol have been working together under the name Bik van der Pol since 1995. Under the auspices of institutional critique and reflection, their works deal with material and pre-existing cultural and archival contexts and environments to which they react, with which they interact or in which they intervene. Bik van der Pol are site- and context-sensitive, and yet they also always work with and along a reorganization of things, uncovering hidden information of objects and bodies of knowledge through a process of unfolding, unravelling and forms of “instituent” choreography.
