BIO
In my recent works, I have dealt with the presence of the body in public space. I was interested in the connection between urban space & the political impact of bodies. For my residency, I would like to continue this topic.
In Melbourne in 1856, stonemasons were officially able to fight for the eight-hour day for the first time in the world. I am interested in the stonemasons' protest march and its route, which stretched from the University of Melbourne to Parliament.
I am also interested in monuments that commemorate this in the city, such as the monument with the numbers "888", which stands for "8 hours work, 8 hours sleep & 8 hours leisure - a demand of the labor movement at the time.
