Born in Barcelona in 1991, violinist and performer Sara Cubarsi studied baroque violin, composition and performance at the Royal Academy of Music in London, the California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles and the Academy of Music in Krakow and has been a permanent member of Ensemble Musikfabrik Köln since 2019, where she currently lives. During her residency, the busy musician would like to “work quietly on a new work of around 50 minutes for violin, cowbells and electronics in the overlapping field of just intonation (‘microtonal’ pure tuning) and heavy drone metal”. She has been working with vocal systems for a long time and has always had the vision that there is a lot of overlap in the sound world of heavy metal. This would be her first solo composition album and Populist Records in California is interested in releasing it.
