The Belarusian artist Tatiana Radsivilko (born 1968), who is a guest at AIR– ARITST IN RESIDENCE Lower Austria in August, works in her painting essentially with the tension between figure and (deserted) space, between the representational and the abstract. Thus, public spaces such as stadiums, theaters, etc. are found in her paintings as backdrops for possible, mostly isolated encounters with people. Empty space and surfaces function as evocators of associative as well as narrative moments, whereby the pictures always have a certain mystery, an inner pictorial as well as scenic encryption and introversion.
